04 Jun

You just can’t depict what’s going on; You’re extremely tired,You just cant focus,You forget a lot of things, but the strangest thing is that all these happen only when you fail to do certain things, like waking up too early in the morning, not eating anything for breakfast,or getting stressed out in the workplace.
The undeniable problem is that you are forgetting to take care of a very essential part of your body;your brain.
Everything we do influences our body in a certain way, even more so,some activities prevent normal brain functioning and even damage the brain structure. Now,imagine that we carry on with these actions daily for years. Can you figure out what happens? Your daily habits are killing your brain!.Changing your habits and lifestyle can however help develop and guarantee good brain and body health.
In todays article,I’m going to throw light on a few daily habits that cause damage to our brain in the long run.
1.Skipping breakfast: Breakfast is the foremost and most important meal of the day because it noticeably influences your performance, endurance, and emotional situation. During the first few hours of the day,the brain “allots” nutrients to continue controlling the physiology and processes after the long fast it has been subjected to. If you do not supply it with energy,it will need to use reserves and it will have to make an extra effort to maintain it’s proper functioning.A lack of breakfast could bring about a lack of energy, loss of concentration and memory, bad moods, and poor physical and intellectual performance.
Eat a healthy breakfast!.
2.Smoking:
Smoking reduces brain matter as well as oxygen supply to the brain. It has been proven to promote the appearance of neurodegenerative diseases. Also, hetero cyclic amines released during cigarette combustion interfere with correct DNA replication, leading to mutations that can cause cancerous cells to be produced.
3.Exposure to toxic environment:
The brain needs a constant supply of oxygen, but different toxic substances can interfere with the exchange of gases, the transportation and processing of oxygen to the body cells, leading to reduced brain efficiency.
4.Elevated sugar consumption:
High intake of refined sugars, white flour, fried food, and packaged food in the diet while also lacking sufficient amounts of vegetables, fruits and fibres, promotes an accumulation of harmful substances in the body. This can enhance the development of tumors,it warps immune system functioning, causes malnutrition and interferes with neurological development.
5.Lack of adequate sleep:
We need at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night in order for our brains to rest for metabolic processes to properly take place with the resulting energy produced as well as for cellular renovation. Depriving oneself of sleep accelerates the death of brain cells over a short term, and will keep you tired and in a bad mood all day.
6.Over eating:
Consumption of food that the body does not need causes an accumulation of residual substances in the form of fats and hardening of the cerebral arteries, which affects its correct functioning.
7.Stress:
Stress reduces mental capacity and increases the risk of suffering from a stroke and also heart attacks.
Also, working or studying a lot while ill is damaging because the body’s energy is being rerouted from the healing. forcing the brain will weaken the immune system even more. This promotes the appearance of many types of illnesses.
8.Lack of mental stimuli:
There’s nothing quite like thinking, having intelligent conversations, reading a book to stimulate your brain. It increases learning capacity and memory.
9.Alcohol:
Alcohol could ruin the body internal organs, especially the nervous system, heart and liver. It impacts the chemical reactions in the brain. Alcoholism kills neurones and reduces the speed of nerve impulses
We can take good care of our brain by adopting a healthy lifestyle.
